La Journal of the Ministry of Labour and Social Economy It is of a quarterly nature and aims to publicize original and unpublished works, not previously published, in the subjects pertaining to the functions assigned to the Department. It began to be published in May 1997. Throughout its history it has had several names: Magazine of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Magazine of the Ministry of Labour and Immigration, Magazine of the Ministry of Employment and Social Security and Magazine of the Ministry of Labour, Migration and Social Security, always in step with the changes produced in the name of the Ministry.
Since May 2001, its contents have been incorporated into the Internet, having received more than one million visits since it was made available to the general public.
It is a doctrinal publication, aimed at professionals, students, technicians, researchers and the general public interested in the socio-labor and migration field.
The journal publishes regular issues, in which are interspersed thematic series that integrate the publication, and other extraordinary topics dedicated, among others, to the Labor Reform; the Social Security Budgets; the Conciliation of family and work life; Volunteering and gradual and flexible retirement; or on the last Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union (January-June 2010). In addition, the contents of the Seminars on Social Security held in recent years are being collected.
Each series is coordinated by two leaders: an internal one (usually the Heads of the Technical Cabinets of the Higher Organs of the Department) and an external one (an expert of recognized prestige in the field of the respective Series).
